Church Show in Charlotte

Okay this concert was awhile ago but I still wanted to give a little review for those of you wanting to know how it was! I know Kiff gave you a little insight as to what she experienced unfortunately she couldn't stay for the whole show but she enjoyed what she saw. Well I headed to Coyote Joe's in Charlotte after work and met up with the crazy Church Choir people. I sat in the car for a while then headed to the line with my friends Lee and Adam. Lee actually runs a really amazing website ericchurchmusic.com where you can find everything Eric Church related. Check it out sometime! Anyways stood in line for a bit then finally the doors opened I got my spot up front like always so I can get the best shots of the ECB boys!

Fortunately, we were lucky enough to have an amazing opening band by the name of Jonathan Singleton and the Grove. I may have mentioned them in an earlier post but seriously check these guys out they are outstanding. Too bad they aren't touring with Eric anymore they really made the night enjoyable beside Eric of course. Definitely be sure to listen to Storms and Probably Just Time! Jonathan doesn't have a song on his new album I don't like be sure to pick it up when it is released. Here are a few pictures of the band!

Eric came on after Jonathan and was greeted by his hometown crowd. Eric grew up in a small town by the name of Granite Falls which is near Hickory, NC. At this point the place was packed everyone was screaming and yelling for the hometown boy! He played the good mix of old and new stuff and rocked the house. If you haven't heard Eric's music before do yourself a favor and get either one or both of his cds for yourself and listen to a great songwriter in the making. I have always said that a song sung by the writer themselves shows the true meaning of what is being sung. You see the emotion that goes into the song and you get a glimpse into the life and thoughts of the writer. Songwriting has always been something I was interested in learning more about. I have learned quite a bit through Eric about the entire writing process from beginning to end. After the show, hung out with friends talked to the guys in the band. Headed to the local waffle house listened to the cook yell at the waiters too funny! She was rough! Headed to the hotel to get a few winks of sleep before heading to South Carolina for a record store appearence and show at the Blindhorse for night two of excitement. Before I continue here are a few pictures of Eric and the ECB Boys!

Where have we been you may ask????

Well it's been a busy couple of months in the land of Kiffs and Giggles! Kiff and i have been to everything under the sun from Nascar, Disney, Nashville for the CMA Fest and not to mention a few concerts! I will try to catch you up on what we have been doing and hopefully Kiff will be willing to share her stories as well. So here goes lets start back where we left off in May and work our way back to today.

Here goes nothing!!!

Thanks a lot Sookie Stackhouse and Bill Compton!

from Kiff:

Read Twilight, get addicted, see movie multiple times... See friends, tell them all about it, get them hooked... Talk about anything Twilight and Rob Pattinson for hours.... lol

A lot of you know that cycle... Well, I was on the receiving end of of the "tell your friends about it" about another Vampire series about a month ago... A cool gal by the name of Lee told me alll about the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris at the Eric Church concert last month... I had casually mentioned that she needed to read Twilight and she said that the Sookie series is much better and a lot more "adult"... She said that it was what the show "True Blood" on HBO was based on... My friend at work had told me about the TV show earlier this year (Thanks A!) :) So, I decided to check it out.... I jumped head first into ordering the entire book series and....

THAT'S WHERE I HAVE BEEN FOR THE LAST FEW WEEKS... on my couch, on the bed, in the bathroom, in the car.... DEVOURING these books...

Thanks a lot Sookie Stackhouse and Bill Compton... (and Eric and Sam)... You make me want to keep reading... reading to smile, get mad, sigh, get intruiged and of course laugh and smile some more... and AAAAAA another vampire series to be addicted to! lol

Now don't get me wrong, I love Edward Cullen tons... But, Bill Compton.... mmmmm well, let's just say... ohhh yeah! :) Sookie is an awesome character and she is much more personable and likeable than Bella in my opinion... I just relate to her more, I guess... (But Breaking Dawn Bella is kinda cool... I actually like her in that book... in the other books, she is too whiney for my taste)

So, once you read the Sookie series, ya kinda get tempted to see what the True Blood show is all about... Well, with the help of youtube... You see that it is based on the books, but over sexified and violenceified... (I think I just made up a word... lol) Nonetheless, it kinda did what the Sex and the City show did... Took a book concept and the characters and changed a lot, but made it a cool show in it's own right (Note: I did not like the Sex in the City book at all... but I loved the show) True Blood at first didn't catch me since I did not know a lot of the backstory.. but now as I read, I am watching some clips and I like what I see... I just had to get over the sexified, violenceified stuff... lol Did I mention that many of the guys on the show are hot as well? lol and Stephen Moyer, who plays Bill, is English just like Rob Pattinson.... Is that a requirement to be a hot Vampire in the acting world nowadays? Check out this clip for Season 2 which starts in June... I am buying Season 1 on Blu-Ray soon... woo hoo Bill in High Definition... Boom Chicka Wow Wow :) hehehehe

Oh well, back to reading... Just bought the 9th book in the Sookie Stackhouse series today (it came out yesterday) but I am on book 6... I gotta see what happens with Sookie and Bill (I want them back together in the worse way! lol) :)

Caption Contest! Peter Facinelli and Kellan Lutz Reading New Moon Book Pic

from Kiff:

Oh my, my, my... The more I hear about these two, the more I like them... They seem hilarious and sweet... From Kellan sneaking up on people and pretending to be a ninja at last Tuesday's 100 Monkeys show to Peter giving having a driver stop so he could give girls that waited out in the cold for them hugs... They are making me like them as much as Jacksper and Rob! lol This picture is perfect.... The only thing that is missing is a funny caption... I have one in my brain, but I want to see what giggles comes up with... What say you giggles? hehehe Let me know what ya think... :)

Twilight Cast Fan Encounters- A lot this week! Fans meet Robert Pattinson and crew.. :)

from Kiff:

Well, since I read TwiCrack daily for Twilight news I cannot help but notice that a ton of people in Vancouver met the cast this week... Even Twicrack herself met a lot of the cast at Jacksper's 100 Monkeys show last week... But nonetheless, here is a compliation of a lot of the fan encounters that happened this week:

Vancity Allie

This girl's site is slammed because of all of her awesome pictures that she has up on her site.... Her site may be slow or not working, keep trying... She seems to be a very cool chica... :) Here is a sample pic of what she saw:

Hmmm, I love the Cullen color palette... The black, the greys, the blues... Love it, love it, love it and can't wait to see the movie! :)

MaliciousMandy

This girl met Robert last night at a club in Vancouver and even got to see him that morning at the set location with VancityAllie... She is also a pretty cool chick.... I would probably be like she was when she met Rob... I guess that she told him that he makes her nervous and he was like... "I get nervous too!" lol Yeah, you get nervous Rob because there are like hundreds of hungry ladies all around vying for your attention and you probably feel like an animal at the zoo... We get it, we know, we understand... But, this is your time my dear, and you are rocking a lot of people's worlds right now... lol

Here is Mandy meeting Robert:
TwiCrack Addict

Here is TwiCrack's story of meeting a lot of the Twilight cast last Tuesday at Jacksper's 100 Monkeys show... I think that this picture right here is my favorite from the whole week... It is 100 Monkeys' Banager LOL Too funny... :)

It's fun seeing everyone's pics and stories and hearing how nice the cast is... Everyone so far has said how gracious they all are, but I am especially surprised to hear how Peter Facinelli actually made their driver stop as they were leaving the Cullen house set to tell the girls thanks for being so supportive and he gave them hugs... I also hear that Jackson is exceptionally gracious and sweet and that makes me even love him more... I mean... "Just look at that punim" as Dr. Evil would say....
Well, that is all I have for now... Until next time.... :)

Eric Church @ Charlotte and New David Cook

from Kiff:

Well, it was an interesting night for us last night, that's for sure... :) I will let giggles fill ya in on the details of the Eric Church concert last night... Since he didn't get on until 11:15 pm, I did not get to see much since hubby had to get home to get some sleep for work... :( Waaahhhh, I did not get to see "Carolina" played live... Ohhhhhh well, I am sure that I will make another show sometime... :) Dave Matthews is next week... woo hoo Hopefully, we will not have drunk people slamming into us at that show....

Speaking of music... I love me some David Cook... He has a new video out called "Come Back to Me".. The concept of the video is pretty cool.... Check it out and until next time... Take care.. :)
